Your patterns are not the problem, they're signals.
—Julian Bermudez

I work with people who feel stuck in patterns of suffering that no longer make sense to them—patterns that may show up as suppression, self-criticism, emotional overwhelm, or reactions that feel hard to control. These patterns often operate outside of awareness, and when they begin to surface, they’re commonly met with confusion, shame, resistance or defensiveness.

Rather than trying to fix or eliminate these patterns, I help people understand them in context—as responses that once served a purpose. When patterns are seen clearly and related to differently, new ways of responding become possible.

I came to this work through years of working directly with my own pain. While my understanding grew, insight alone didn’t change the patterns. Knowing what was happening wasn’t the same as being able to respond differently. What I was struggling with lived deeper—in patterns shaped over time in the body and nervous system.

Because I practice how to work with these patterns in my own life, the approaches I share are ones I’ve developed, tested, and relied on myself. That shared ground often makes the work feel more accessible and real.

My work is informed by formal training in psychology and psychotherapy, including a master's degree and post-graduate clinical education, as well as extensive independent study.

Claire

Claire works with a specific set of clients within the practice and brings a complementary presence to the work.

Some clients choose to work with Claire because they prefer a female for therapy, or because her approach feels especially supportive for the areas they’re navigating. Claire works specifically with issues related to sexual trauma and supports clients in a way that prioritizes safety, pacing, consent, and attunement.

When clients work with Claire, the same values guide the process — care, presence, respect for boundaries, and trust in the intelligence of the human system.

When appropriate, her work supports the broader therapeutic container, and Claire and I also work together during select in-person retreats, where our complementary approaches support a shared healing environment.
